A car buyer reviewing a written out-the-door price quote

The process

How buying through a broker works

You tell us the car. We do the searching, calling and negotiating. You get written numbers, choose one, and sign.

Step 3 of 3: Contact

We use this only to send your quote. No spam, and we never sell your information.

Four stages

Four stages, and you make every decision.

  1. 01

    Tell us the car

Make, model, trim, color, and whether you want to buy or lease. Rough is fine; "a three-row hybrid under $50k" is a starting point.

  2. 02

    We shop it

We contact dealers, confirm real units by VIN, and get written out-the-door numbers, with add-ons spelled out.

  3. 03

    You choose

You see the quotes side by side. We'll tell you which we would take and why, and you decide.

  4. 04

    Sign and drive

We confirm the contract matches the quote. You sign, and the car is yours.

What happens at each step

1. You tell us the car

The quote form asks for the make and model, whether you want new or used, buy or lease, and any trim, color or package you care about. If you're torn between two models, say so. We can price both.

2. We shop it

We contact dealers' fleet and internet managers instead of the sales floor. We ask each one for an itemized out-the-door price: vehicle price, dealer fees, add-ons, tax, title and registration. We confirm the vehicle by VIN so the quote is tied to a real unit.

3. You choose

You see the quotes in writing, side by side. We point out the differences that matter: a dealer that's $400 lower on price but $600 higher on fees isn't the better deal. Then you pick.

4. Sign and drive

Before you sign, we check the contract against the quote. Nothing new should show up at the finance desk. If something does, you'll know before your signature is on it.

Buying it yourself vs. using a broker

The car is the same either way. What changes is who does the legwork, and who's across the desk from the dealer.

StepOn your ownWith Castle Rock Auto Broker
Finding the carSearch a dozen dealer sites, call to check if the listing is real.We search dealer stock and incoming allocations, and confirm the VIN is actually there.
Getting a priceEach dealer quotes a monthly payment, not the price. You get the out-the-door number in writing: price, fees, tax and title.
NegotiatingHours at the desk while the manager "checks one more thing".We negotiate by phone and email with the dealer's fleet or internet manager.
Add-onsNitrogen tires, paint sealant and etching show up on the final sheet. We flag every add-on in the quote and ask for it to be removed before you go in.
Trade-inThe dealer lowers the trade value to make the new price look better. We keep the trade separate so you can see both numbers on their own.
SigningYou read the contract for the first time at the finance desk.We check that the paperwork matches the quote before you sign.

Questions people ask

Do I still buy from a dealer?

Yes. The vehicle is sold by a licensed dealer, and the title, registration and any factory warranty work the same as any other purchase. We handle the search and negotiation.

Can I test drive first?

Yes. If you haven't driven the model, we'll point you to a dealer with one in stock so you can drive it before we start negotiating.

What if I already have a quote?

Send it over. We'll read it line by line and tell you what looks high, then see whether another dealer will beat it.

Do you arrange financing?

Bring your own pre-approval from your bank or credit union, or let the dealer quote a rate. We'll compare the rates so you can see which one costs less.

Ready when you are.
